Causal Analysis of a Case of Single-phase Ground Fault of Steam Turbine Generator Stator Winding
This essay reports the case event of stator winding protective relay action encountered by an operating unit of an actual thermal power plant. It describes the causal analysis which discovers that the detachment of generator steam-side slot block resulted in the wear of wiring bar main insulation by the binding rope and debris of the slot block, and conse-quently formed single-phase ground fault and triggered relay trip.It outlines the significance of standardized preventive testing operation and gives preliminarily countermeasures.
