The continuously rising market proportion of EVs in automotive industry has magnified the significance of the design of IGBT auxiliary power sources for motor controllers, the latter of which is regarded as one of the important elec-trical components in EVs.The IGBT switching frequency of the motor controller varies with the change of motor speed. It directly determines the load of the auxiliary traction power source, and hence puts forward higher performance require-ments for the auxiliary source. This work made a design of auxiliary power source with a single-ended flyback topology. The main efforts entailed the analysis on transformer parameters and control loop compensation, and static and dynamic simulative verification under conditions such as low pressure plus full load using SIMetrix.A practical prototype was im-plemented,tuned and tested, and the acquired data indicated the rationality of the proposed design.
