This study proposes an improved solution based on wireless communication technology to address the existing problems in the flood discharge warning system of a large reservoir in Guizhou Province. The introduction of wireless sen-sor networks(WSN)and 4G/5G cellular communication technologies facilitates improving real-time performance,relia-bility,and scalability of the system. The results show that the packet loss rate of system data transmission is less than 0.1%,and the average delay is less than 2 seconds.Under high load conditions, the data processing speed can reach 4800 records per second. The modified system, though has certain delays and sensor data loss under extreme conditions,reali-zes significant improvement in overall stability and performance, providing strong support for safety management of the reservoir.
