This work proposed a random forest regression model-based method of calculating overhead line loss ratio.The method was based on the identification and determination of the causes and types of distribution network line loss.It used the random forest regression model to obtain line loss characteristic value and the high-dimensional data features to provide basis for the prediction calculation.Moreover,the equivalent resistance method was used to calculate the line loss rate of overhead lines in distribution network.The experimental results showed that the random forest regression model can accu-rately calculate the line loss rate of overhead lines in distribution network,thus has potential applicability.
