A Case Study Analysis of Stator Failures in Hydroelectric Generators
This article examines a fault case involving a bulb-type tubular hydro-generator,where the displacement of sili-con steel sheets within the stator core resulted in a generator sweep.A comprehensive analysis was conducted,encompas-sing the operational records of on-site protection systems and an inspection of the primary equipment. The investigation further involved disassembling the stator after it was removed for a detailed examination, which led to the precise identifi-cation of the fault's root cause. In response to the issues highlighted by this incident, specific corrective and preventive measures have been recommended. The insights gained from this study offer valuable guidance for the installation,as well as the daily operation and maintenance,of generators in hydropower facilities.
