In the Republic of China,Huang Jie took education and academia as his ambition,and his choice was already seen in The Origin and Development of Lingnan Learning.As a famous scholar and educator of Guangdong,Huang Jie's academic thought,academic inheritance and academic contribution to Lingnan are related to this monograph.In the contradiction tension be-tween Chinese learning and Western Learning,the Han school of classical philology and the Song School,government School and private school,Huang Jie regarded lecturing and moral integrity as the key to the prosperity of Lingnan scholarship.Huang Jie's Lingnan academic thought,which originated from his quintessence theory of"protecting the country"and"protecting the species",was a part of the cultural nationalism of the quintessence school in the late Qing dynasty.Huang Jie's study of Chinese poetics pro-moted the modern transformation and innovation of Lingnan scholarship.On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Huang Jie's birth,it is of practical significance to expound his Lingnan academic spirit and his inheritance of excellent traditional culture.
