Breaking the Cocoon: From Shikumen to Tiananmen is a documentary literature work on the history of the Communist Party of China, focusing on Shanghai, the birthplace of the Party. The writing philosophy is to pursue the goal of loving the Party and loving the country through history, striving to showcase the image of the respected and approachable Party through credible and readable Party history stories, and striving to use a storybook to help ordinary readers understand the history of the founding of the Communist Party of China. However, due to subjective and objective reasons, the book also has obvious shortcomings such as incomplete story selection, insufficient stories of female revolutionary martyrs founding the Party, and inaccurate individual historical facts.
