Maiwangguan Collation Version of Ancient and Contemporary Zaju, which has the records of costume and prop, is an important document for researching costume color of the royal Zaju in the Ming dynasty. In the second creation process from the script writing to the stage performance, the costume color of the characters did not completely copy the color system of the real society, but took the color grade of main color-intermediate color-mixed color as the core, and built an independent set of stage costume color system on the basis of stage and performance. Under the theme of pursuing good luck and avoiding evil, white and purple in the script were replaced by light blue and red respectively in the performance; in the construction of the character color specifications, typical stage characters such as Yang Jing in light blue robe, Guan Yu in red robe, Laier in indigo dress and Laoer in tea brown straight garment were created.
