In the realm of philosophy of science and technology in China, two academic traditions coexist:the tradition of dialectical materialism in nature and the tradition of philosophy of science.Friedrich Engels noted that the Hegelian philosophy of nature, which places idealism above science, has been superseded, and advocated for the establishment of a dialectical materialist perspective on nature.Engels's numerous discourses on nature and the natural sciences underscore the profound significance of his views on nature and scientific inquiry. The advent of logical positivism, with its rejection of"metaphysics",has led to a diminished focus on natural philosophy among some scholars. These two academic traditions diverge in their fundamental philosophical stances.Adhering to the tradition of dialectical materialism, natural philosophy should be conjoined with scientific practice, thereby fostering research in scientific natural philosophy.A pivotal area of study within this framework is the interrelation between the macroscopic world of everyday experience and the microscopic domain of quantum phenomena.
