The theme and composition of the wall paintings on the southern wall in Mogao cave 72 are only seen in the Mo-gao Caves,and thus are of great significance for understanding the religious and artistic history of this site.This paper focuses on the theme,content,structure,narrative,and religious concepts of the image,and compares it with the"Map of Mount Wutai"im-age in Mogao Cave 61.
