Having been collated and studied for over one hundred years,most of the historical documents found in the Li-brary Cave at Dunhuang have already been copied into standard transcripts;at present,these ancient manuscripts have now en-tered a period of digitization.However,the current databases for the Dunhuang documents consist mainly of images,the text of which cannot be retrieved.This paper discusses how to truly digitize these historical documents,including studies on various as-pects of images,cataloguing,digital texts,and document retrieval methods.
