Current Status and Development of Anti-Tampering Technology for Electric Bicycle Controllers
One of the core components of electric bicycles is the controller, which plays a critical role in regulating motor speed, managing battery energy output, and providing various protection functions. However,as electric bicycles become more widespread, the issue of controller tampering has garnered increasing attention. Some users tamper with the controller to remove speed limits, which, while enhancing speed, also introduces serious safety risks, such as in-creased traffic accident risk and reduced lifespan of the electric bicycle. This paper systematically analyzes the functions of electric bicycle controllers, tampering behaviors, and their impacts, and explores current anti-tampering technologies, including hardware protection, software encryption, remote monitoring, and tampering detection. The research indicates that while existing technologies have improved controller security to some extent, significant challenges remain.Future development should focus on intelligent protection, the construction of multi-layered security mechanisms, and the im-provement of regulations and standards to effectively curb tampering and ensure the safety and reliability of electric bi-cycles.
