Research on Sponge Waterproofing of Outdoor Unit Top Cover of Air Conditioner
At present,sponges are installed above the electric control box on the top cover of outdoor air condition-ers,which are used to isolate the water from the fan rotating into the compressor chamber in rainy environments,causing failure of electrical devices such as controllers or compressors.However,commonly used sponges cannot effectively seal the gap between the reinforced top cover and the electric control box.This article uses the control variable method to test the thickness and material of the sponge on the outdoor unit top cover of household air conditioners.The experimental data shows that the permanent rebound of PE sponge is smaller.After the top cover is closed,the PE sponge with smaller rebound can better fill the gaps in the top cover,resulting in better waterproof effect.
