Study on the Influence of Current Density of Jet Electrodeposition Method for Ni/Co Multilayers
Metal multilayer films are expected to become more superior protective coating materials due to their high hardness and good corrosion resistance. In this article,Ni/Co multilayer films with different current density were prepared on 304 stainless steel substrate using jet electrodeposition method, and the microstructure, microhardness and corrosion resistance of the films were studied, respectively. The result showed that in jet electrodeposition at high current density, the multilayers are mainly composed of face-centered cubic and close-packed hexagonal crystals in the multilayer film at high current density when jet electrodeposition. With the increase of current density, the microcosmic surface morphology of Ni/Co multilayer film gradually becomes uniform and complete, and the grains gradually refine. When the current density of electrodeposition is 80 A/dm2,the self-corrosion current density and microhardness of Ni/Co multilayer film is 5.428×10-7 A/cm2 and 525.4HV,demonstrating excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
