Aiming at the problem of limited thickness and uniformity of metal electrodes in traditional chemical plating methods,a method based on the combination of electrochemical deposition and chemical plating was proposed.Innovatively,a copper layer was further deposited on a silver based electrode to form a Cu/Ag bilayer composite electrode, which significantly improving the thickness, uniformity and conductivity of the electrode.By optimizing the electrochemical deposition parameters to obtain the optimal voltage and processing time, the performance stability and service life of ion polymer metal composite(IPMC)materials during the driving process have been significantly enhanced. The result showed that the Cu/Ag double-layer electrode IPMC material has an electric driving response performance improved by more than 30%compared to the single-layer Ag electrode under DC voltage, and its conductivity and durability were significantly improved. This study provides a new idea for the preparation of high-performance IPMC artificial muscle materials.
