Design of the High-torque Density Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Used in New Energy Commercial Vehicles
A permanent magnet synchronous motor with rated power of 60 kW used in new energy commercial vehicles is designed by the finite element analysis method. The parametric analysis method is applied to research how the key dimensions such as stator slot depth and magnetic isolation bridge thickness to influence the motor torque density. In order to suppress the harmonic content of the magnetic field and reduce the torque ripple of the motor, the angle of the V-shaped rotor magnet is parameterized and optimized. The test results of main performance parameters of the prototype show that the effective torque density of the motor reaches 21.5 N·m/kg,the highest efficiency is 96.1%and the high-efficiency operation range where the motor's efficiency greater than 85%occupies 89.6%of total. The finite element parametric analysis method and the optimi-zation method of key structural parameters of the motor described in this paper have a remarkable effect in the fields of improving the torque density of the motor and expanding the efficient operation range of the motor.
