Research and Experimental Validation of Dynamic Control Strategy of the Phase Change Commutation Lead Angle in Pumped Storage Static Frequency Converters
Static frequency converter is the core equip-ment of pumped storage power station in China.In the pro-cess of static variable frequency starting,the commutation of inverter in natural commutation stage generally adopts the control strategy of constant commutation lead angle,but frequently resulting in commutation failure.Aiming at this problem,a dynamic control strategy of inverter commuta-tion lead angle is proposed.This strategy mainly controls the commutation lead angle dynamically by means of the terminal voltage and loop current,so as to avoid the prob-lems to occur when using the constant commutation lead angle strategy.At the same time,the proper commutation margin is also introduced,to improve the success rate of commutation and the stability of the system.Finally,feasi-bility of the strategy is verified through large quantities of experiments in which power factor and starting efficiency are taken as validation standards,proving that the strategy has the advantages of good starting efficiency and high power factor when comparing with the traditional control method.
