Research on the Influenced Power Factor by Axial Ventilation Holes of Rotors of Two-pole Three-phase Induction Motors
The design and development experience of a 400 kW three-phase asynchronous induction motor is sum-marized in the paper. In response to the situation that the test results of the initial electromagnetic scheme does not meet the design requirements,it is found that failure of the initial scheme is due to the too small size of the axial ven-tilation holes after theoretical analysis and electromagnetic simulation.By increasing the size of the axial ventilation holes, the power factor of the motor is effectively improved, and finally an electromagnetic scheme that meets the re-quirements is formed.
