An Overview of South Korea's Foreign Science and Technology Cooperation and the Future of Sino-Korean Science and Technology Cooperation
Foreign science and technology cooperation is an important part of South Korea's science and technology strategy,and it is the crucial guarantee of its success in science and technology field in recent years.Over the past decades,South Korea has cooperated with major science and technology powerhouses such as the United States,Europe,Japan and Russia in joint research and talent communication,which has contributed to the development of its science and technology.After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea,science and technology cooperation has been fruitful and has become a major growth point for South Korea's foreign science and technology cooperation.However,in recent years,the U.S.has been trying to unite its allies to"decouple science and technology"from China,and the Yoon Seok-youl government,pursuing the"values diplomacy",has taken the initiative to cater to America's strategy to a certain extent,which has seriously deteriorated the external environment for science and technology cooperation between China and South Korea.Considering the future development,China and South Korea should adopt a flexible and diversified strategy that starts from the easy to the difficult,steadily building a solid foundation for long-term cooperation in the field of science and technology.
