As one of the important components of power system, thin film capacitor is widely used due to its such advantages as long service life and high reliability. However, there is very little research on mining the inherent properties of the capacitor from a data perspective. In order to fill this gap,40 793 thin film capacitor data are collected from the network as the analysis basis.Firstly, scatter plots and box plots are used to analyze the differences in capacitance, maximum and minimum temperatures,AC/DC operating voltages, and other factors of capacitors prepared from different materials from a horizontal perspective. Then, pie charts are used to compare the operating temperatures and application scenarios of capacitor from a vertical perspective. Finally, the Pearson coefficients of these performance indicators is calculated for correlation analysis. The results show that metallized polypropylene material,as the current mainstream material, has significant advantages over other materials in terms of capacitance and AC/DC operating voltage, while metallized polyphenylene sulfide dominates in operating temperature. The correlation between various parameters of capacitors, except temperature and operating voltage,is not significant. In the future, further data processing and learning can be carried out to achieve performance prediction results.
