In modernn Chinese,the adverb"douranjian"means short time,abruptness and contrast.It often appears in perfect tense,and also in progressive events.Non-persistent verbs,dynamic auxiliary words,and time frequency adverbs are its common co-occurrences.This adverb first appeared in Ming Dynasty with the combination of"douran"and"jian".It can be found that the semantic bleaching,cognitive chunking,metaphor,maturity of"jian",all help to make the word come into wide use.
