A Corpus-Assisted Study of Image Construction of Japan's Nuclear Energy in Media Discourse on the Fukushima Nuclear Accident
Based on corpus-assisted discourse analysis,this study investigates the discourse on the Fukushima nuclear accident from the renowned French newspaper Le Monde.It is found that Japan's nuclear energy image in the media shows a discernible shift,from predominantly negative to partially positive,during the outbreak of the Fukushima nuclear accident to 2022.This transformation finds its roots not only in the intricate socio-political context within Japan but also in the prevailing social realities and political motivations within France.
