Power Transmission Scheme from the 10 GW Wind Power Base
Balanced development of power grids and wind power bases is in line with the basic pattern of energy flow in China. Rich in land and wind power resources and sparsely populated, the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is an ideal place for intensive development of large wind power bases which will secure sufficient power sources for large-scale power export to other regions. Based on an in-depth analysis of the wind power resources of the region, several transmission schemes are discussed for power export from the region, and the best one is selected after technical and economic analyses.
