Energy Supply-Demand and Power Grid Construction in Henan Province
Henan province turned into a net energy importer at the end of the period of the ＂Eleventh Five-Year Plan＂ （2006-2010）. Based on an analysis of the energy situation in Henan province, this paper states that the resources from within the province will not be able to meet the demand of the rapid economic development for energy. Considering the construction of the coal-fired thermal power generation bases and the UHV power grid planning across the country, the paper proposes that the energy supply in Henan province should adhere to the principle of ＂equal attention to coal transportation and power transmission＂, and that the Henan Power Grid should transit away from the strategy of ＂relying on the three mega coal-fired power generation bases of the province to build a mega power exporting grid＂ towards the strategy of ＂vigorously relying on the country＇ s power generation bases construction outside the region and the development of the UHV power grid to build and improve its own power grid＂.
