The reservation mechanism for parking spaces in tourist areas is considered an effective means to al-leviate road congestion, reduce tourist parking search time and enhance their overall visitor experience.Psy-chological factors are recognized as influential determinants in the decision-making process of the car travel-ers.This study, focused on the tourists who drove to tourist destinations, employed the theory of planned be-havior to investigate the impact mechanisms of psychological latent variables on their intention to reserve park-ing spaces. The perceived risk variable was introduced into the behavior model, and a structural equation model for tourist intentions to participate in parking reservations at tourist destinations was constructed. The in-fluence of attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and perceived risk on tourist intention to re-serve parking spaces was explored through empirical analysis based on questionnaire survey data. The research findings indicate that attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and perceived risk all have signif-icant effects on the tourist intention to reserve parking spaces, with attitude being the most crucial and influen-tial factor.Perceived risk exhibits a significant negative impact on tourist intention to participate in parking reservations at tourist destinations. This study provides valuable insights for the development and enhancement of parking space reservation mechanisms in tourist areas.
