Application of Security and Stability Control System for Chongqing-Hubei Back-to-Back HVDC Project
Chongqing-Hubei Back-to-Back HVDC Project is a flexible DC project with high voltage level,large transmission capacity and the most complete functions in the world.The security and stability control system(SSCS)for Chongqing-Hubei HVDC consists of SSCS of the South Channel of Chongqing-Hubei HVDC(Shizhou Converter Station)and the SSCS of the North Channel of Chongqing-Hubei HVDC(Yichang Converter Station),and it covers southwest and central China.The system mainly helps solve the frequency problem caused by DC bipolar lockout of Shizhou/Yichang converter station,the static stability failure problem of Changnan Line,and the problem of system low frequency out of limit after asynchronous operation of the southwest and central China main power grids.It mainly adopts the control measures of tripping generator or modulating relevant DC power.This paper introduces the structure design,system configuration,control strategy and new technique of SSCS for Chongqing-Hubei HVDC.Since being put into operation,the system has operated correctly for many times,ensuring the safe and stable operation of the southwest and central China power grids.
