On Authentication for the Sensor Networks of Hydro Grid With Covert Channel Aided by Blockchain
The traditional identity authentication method based on public key cryptography has high requirements for computing resources and is prone to single point failures in centralized authentication, making it difficult to apply to hydroelectric sensor networks. To this end,a lightweight authentication algorithm based on the combination of blockchain and covert communication is proposed to authenticate the identity of access nodes in hydropower sensor networks. In the hydroelectric sensing network,a blockchain system has been constructed and a multipath covert communication method based on blockchain has been proposed.A network fingerprint mechanism has been designed to embed the identity information of the sensing node into normal transmission to form a network fingerprint. The receiver can determine the identity of the sensing node by extracting the network fingerprint. We have developed a global reputation based consensus algorithm for block nodes and designed an identity authentication protocol for accessing sensors using this consensus algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed identity authentication method based on blockchain covert communication can improve the security of sensor node access authentication.
