In this paper, the concept and connotation of the drivers of regional land use change was decomposed at first. And then, through the comprehensive analysis in land use change drivers at home and abroad, the main driving factors and the basic characteristics were summarized; the progress in mechanism and models was emphatically analyzed and the advantages and disadvantages of each model and application were concluded. At last, the trend that needed to be studied further in the future was put forward, hoping to play a positive role in land use/cover change researches.
