A Preliminary on Applicability Analysis of Spatial Interpolation Method
Spatial interpolation is a basic content of geoscience research, and it is one of the most important methods of spatial analysis in GIS.It is very important to choose the interpolation model which is suitable for the specific problem in scientific and effective way in the interpolation methods. However, there is a lack of comprehensive and clear exposition on this kind of problem. In this paper, the study object is common spatial interpolation methods provided by ArcGIS,and the theoretical models and the experimental comparison methods are used to classify these interpolation models according to the prediction ability, prerequisite, complexity, output precision and processing speed of various interpolation models. It is found that there are obvious differences in the results of different interpolation methods for the same application scenario, and the focus of the various interpolation models is different. This further shows that according to the various characteristics of interpolation,it is helpful in the selection of more suitable interpolation method in the specific issues, and it also provides a reference for scientific applications of spatial interpolation models.
