The impact of environmental pollution on human physical and mental health has been widely discussed.However,the effect of environmental pollution on social morality has been largely overlooked in research.From the perspective of embodied cognition theory,this paper explores the impact of regional environmental pollution on the evaluation of residents'moral anomie based on the 3 703 sample data of"Chinese General Social Survey",and uses the propensity score matching method for empirical test.It is found as follows.① Regional environmental pollution has a significant positive impact on residents'public morali-ty,professional ethics and family virtue anomie,but has no significant impact on media moral anomie.② The impact of re-gional environmental pollution on residents'moral anomie appraisal is essentially a concrete manifestation of the impact of geographical environment on human cognition in the human-land relationship system.The research results can provide em-pirical evidence for the study of the adverse effects of environmental pollution on social morality,and to a certain extent confirm the important strategic significance of the current ecological civilization construction and environmental protection governance advocated by China.
