The integrated development of rural culture and tourism is receiving more and more attention from the academics.By combing the research results of the integration of rural culture and tourism,we can grasp its research trend as a whole and pro-vide new ideas for subsequent research.This paper summarised and analyzed the research process,researchers and issuing insti-tutions,research methods and content of the integration of rural culture and tourism.It is found as follows.① Compared to English literature,Chinese literature is more enthusiastic,with a marked growth trend and significant policy orientation,and has gone through three more stable development stages:initial exploration,initial growth and rapid development.② Compared to foreign researchers,leaders have emerged in China,but there is no strong core team and broad network of academic collabora-tions at home and abroad as a whole.③ Research methods are dominated by qualitative methods,but show a trend of combining quantitative and qualitative methods.④ The research content mainly includes four aspects:resources of the integration of rural culture and tourism,the relationship between rural tourism and culture,the impact of the integration of rural culture and tourism,and the path of the integration of rural culture and tourism.Future research needs to further deepen research content,improve research methods,build theoretical systems and establish research cooperation networks.
