Spatial Mismatch between Tourism Competitiveness and Tourism Network Attention at Provincial Level in China
Correctly understanding the mismatched relationship between tourism competitiveness and tourism network attention at provincial level in China is of great significance for promoting the high-quality development of regional tourism. On the basis of using the new development concept to construct a tourism competitiveness index system, the spatial gravity model and spatial mismatch index method were adopted to systematically analyze the spatio-temporal pattern, spatial mismatch characteristics, and influencing factors of provincial tourism competitiveness and tourism network attention in China from 2011 to 2020.It is found as follows.① From 2011 to 2020,the provincial tourism competitiveness and tourism network attention in China showed an overall growth trend and obvious spatial differentiation. The center of gravity of tourism competitiveness showed concentrated distribution. The center of gravity of tourism network attention was located in the southwest of the center of gravity of tourism competitiveness, and fluctuated significantly with time.② In terms of mismatch characteristics,it generally presents the distri-bution characteristics of"positive mismatch-negative mismatch"from east to west. The positive high mismatch areas are con-centrated in eastern coastal provinces such as Zhejiang,Shandong and Guangdong, and then gradually extend to central provinces such as Hubei,Jiangxi and Hunan. The negative high mismatch areas are mainly distributed in western characteristic tourist destinations and popular online celebrity cities.③ The comprehensive effects of tourism resource endowment, social and eco-nomic development, policy support, network environment and other factors contribute to the spatial mismatch of tourism com-petitiveness and tourism network attention.
