Spatio-temporal Heterogeneity and Its Driving Mechanism of Resource Misallocation in the Banking Industry of China
To solve the problem of resource misallocation in the banking industry of China can improve the irrational allocation of financial resources, which is of great practical significance to enhance the efficiency of financial service and achieve high-quali-ty development of finance.Based on the measurement of capital and labor misallocation in the banking industry of China from 2011 to 2020,this paper analyzes the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of capital and labor misallocation and studies the driving mechanism of spatio-temporal heterogeneity by using random forest model. It is found as follows.① The level of capital misallo-cation in the banking industry is on the rise, while the level of labor misallocation is on the decline. Both have obvious gradient effect, and the trend of multi-polarization is obvious. The level of capital misallocation in the banking industry is lower than that of labor misallocation.(2)The spatial distribution of capital misallocation in the banking industry is characterized by overall dis-persion and patchy agglomeration, while the spatial distribution of labor misallocation is mainly patchy agglomeration.③ The spatio-temporal heterogeneity of the resource misallocation is driving by many factors.Urbanization level, financial decentraliza-tion,human capital development, financial openness and industrial structure are the key driving factors that affect the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of capital misallocation in the banking industry. In addition to the above five factors, the key driving fac-tors of the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of labor misallocation include financial development and labor mobility. The deepening of financial decentralization and the optimization of industrial structure can reduce the level of capital and labor misallocation.
