Research on Erosion Characteristics of Wind Turbine Blades Under Wind-Sand Conditions Based on EDEM-FLUENT Coupling Simulation
Wind turbine blades are highly susceptible to erosion in wind-sand environments,which affects their aerodynamic properties.This not only reduces the power generation efficiency of wind turbines but also signifi-cantly shortens their operational lifespan.Therefore,this study uses EDEM-FLUENT coupled simulations to model the erosion and wear of blades under different sand grain shapes(spherical,triangular,and irregular)and various sand and dust conditions(sand,sandstorm,and strong sandstorm).The results can further guide the opti-mization of the wind turbine operation control strategy,so that the wind turbine can reduce the degree of blade erosion and increase the service life by changing the angle of attack under sandy operation conditions,which is of high value for engineering practice.
