Research on Fault Characteristics of Novel Power Systems with Three-Phase Grid-Connected Inverters
As the installed capacity of new energy power generation systems continues to increase, there is a sig-nificant difference between the fault current characteristics of traditional generator units and those of new energy power generation systems when a fault occurs in the grid. This difference affects the operation of the relay protec-tion system, thus threatening the safety of the power system.Based on an analysis of the topology, mathematical model, and control strategy of three-phase grid-connected inverters, this paper discusses the fault current charac-teristics of the grid-connected inverter when a short-circuit fault occurs in the grid, considering the low-voltage ride-through capability of new energy power generation technology. Finally,a simulation model is built to verify the effectiveness of the derived fault current model of the grid-connected inverter.
