Strategy Analysis of Coal-Fired Power Units Participating in Turkey s Grid Frequency Regulation Auxiliary Services
The 2×660 MW super-supercritical units at the Hunutlu Power Plant in Turkey, developed by Shanghai Electric Power,is a key project aligned with China's Belt and Road Initiative and Turkey's"Middle Cor-ridor"strategy.The two units have been successfully built and commissioned, significantly alleviating Turkey's tight electricity demand.During the project implementation, especially after commissioning, more insights were gained into the local grid's power composition, electricity market, and auxiliary services.Through analyzing the requirements for auxiliary services and combining them with the frequency regulation capability of coal-fired units,as well as the changes in the electricity market, this paper comprehensively considers the strategies for coal-fired units to adapt. The goal is to improve grid-source synergy, obtain auxiliary service revenue, and provide strateev references for Turkey's operational coal-fired power units in offering auxiliary services.
