Analysis on seismic collapse vulnerability of masonry structures of residential houses in rural areas
To quickly and quantitatively evaluate the seismic collapse resistance performance of a large num-ber of self-built masonry buildings in rural areas of China,an analysis method of seismic collapse vulnerabili-ty based on a simplified analysis model was proposed. For the typical masonry structures of residential hou-ses in rural areas with different seismic structural measures,a structural simplified shear storey model was es-tablished based on the restoring force model of masonry wall panels and rigid floor assumption, and the cor-responding collapse judgment criterion was determined according to the typical collapse modes of the struc-ture.The reliability of the proposed model in collapse analysis was verified by comparing the simulation re-sults with those of the refined model. The incremental dynamic analysis based on 23 ground motions was carried out for each simplified shear storey model to obtain the collapse fragility curves, and the seismic col-lapse resistance of typical rural masonry structures was quantitatively evaluated. The results show that adding structural columns can significantly improve the structural seismic collapse resistance. The collapse resistance of the masonry structures with precast slabs is significantly reduced compared to that of the structures with cast-in-place slabs. The collapse margin ratio of the masonry structures without constructional columns and ring beams but using precast slabs is only 10%of that of the structures with intact seismic structural meas-ures.
