Excavation of Panzhuang Earthen Burial Mound D3 in Jurong,Jiangsu
The archaeological excavation of the earthen burial mound D3 in Panzhuang,Jurong,Jiang-su,revealed 11 tombs and one ash pit.The site represents a typical structure of one mound with multiple tombs,arranged in a basically radial pattern.The burial goods mainly consisted of hard-paste potteries,pot-teries,proto-porcelains,and stone wares,dating to the transitional period between the mid and late Spring and Autumn periods.The excavation provides foundational material for studying the characteristics of earth-en mound tombs and burial customs in the western foothills of the Maoshan Mountain Range in Ningzhen area.
