Excavation of the Sunwu Tomb(M2)at Huqiu Road Xincun in Gusu,Suzhou,Jiangsu Province
From 2016 to 2018,the Suzhou Municipal Institute of Archaeology conducted excavations at Huqiu Road Xincun burial mound in Gusu district,Suzhou,Jiangsu province,revealing three brick-chambered tombs dating back to the Sunwu period of the Three Kingdoms era.Among them,Tomb M2 features a"中"shaped layout and remained untouched by looters.A total of 83 artifacts were unearthed,including celadon,pottery,and bronze wares,gold and silver items,as well as amber,turquoise,glass,and stone objects.These findings provide significant materials for related historical and archaeological studies.
