Excavations and Analysis of Six Dynasties Jiankang City Remains at Pilu Temple and Li Hongzhang Memorial Hall,Nanjing
From September 2017 to July 2018,the Nanjing Institute of Archaeological Research con-ducted excavations at the sites of Pilu Temple and Li Hongzhang Memorial Hall (Ligongci). The excavations uncovered more than 30 relics dating from the Six Dynasties to the Ming and Qing dynasties, including ditch-es,brick walls, ash pits, and building foundations. Over 60 artifacts made of pottery, porcelain, bronze, and stone were unearthed. The discovery of river channels (ditches) and brick walls provides significant markers of the spatial layout of Jiankang City during the Six Dynasties, offering new foundational data for the restora-tion and study of this historic city.
