Industrial museums are a product of the industrial age,serving as key institutions for pre-serving industrial heritage and promoting industrial culture.Though relatively young in China,these museums have quickly become a vital force in safeguarding and sharing the nation's industrial legacy.Two major events-the China Industrial Heritage Protection Forum in 2006,organized by the National Cultural Heritage Administration,and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo-acted as catalysts,accelerating the development nation-wide.Industrial museums generally follow two primary models:traditional industrial museums and site-based industrial museums,with the latter gaining prominence under the global movement for industrial heri-tage conservation.On the international stage,China's industrial museums present the country's unique sto-ry through the lens of its industrial culture,highlighting their great potential for future growth.With strong national policy support,they are poised to play a crucial role in preserving and promoting China's industrial heritage for future generations.
