Along with the continuous growth of heavy-haul railway transportation volume,energy consumption issues have become increasingly prominent,and energy conservation and consumption reduction are urgent.The key lies in mastering the energy consumption characteristics of the system under different transportation volumes,especially the energy consumption of electric locomotives.The paper studies an energy consumption evaluation method for electric locomotives based on their operating characteristics and line conditions.In accordance with the basic theory on traction calculation,the stress characteristics and motion characteristics of the electric locomotive in process of running in the section are analyzed.Combined with the control strategy of the electric locomotive and power transmission characteristics of the traction transmission system,the energy consumption of each link of electric locomotive under different operation status(traction,coasting and braking)is analyzed.The energy consumption characteristics of the HXD1 electric locomotive running in the section are analyzed as well through simulation.The results show that the energy consumption is able to meet the related theorem and operation characteristics of the electric locomotive and the feasibility of the proposed method is verified.
