Measured and model comparison analysis of atmospheric wind field characteristics at an altitude of 60~110 km
The HWM07 model can provide mid-and upper-atmosphere wind field data at any time, position and altitude,It makes up for the low temporal and spatial resolution of the observation data, and has become an important reference data in the early design process of space vehicles,Therefore, the accuracy characteristics of the wind field from the HWM07 model need to be studied.Based on the meridional wind data and zonal wind data of HWM07 model and MF radar in January(winter)and July(summer)2016 in Langfang, the changes and differences of meridional wind and zonal wind in winter and in summer are preliminarily studied by using common mathematical statistics methods such as absolute difference, correlation coefficient and Lomb-Scargle periodogram. The results demonstrated that at the altitude of 60~110 km,(1)in winter and in summer, the average meridional wind and zonal wind characteristics of MF radar are basically consistent with the HWM07 model, but the average wind field characteristics between winter and summer are opposite.(2)For meridional wind and zonal wind, the variation characteristics of deviation, absolute difference and correlation coefficient between HWM07 model and MF radar with height in winter are significantly different from those in summer.(3)At an altitude of 86~92 km,there are significant differences between zonal wind, meridional wind of MF radar and HWM07 model in wave period and the power spectrum values, there are also differences in atmospheric fluctuations that play a major role in the characteristics of zonal wind and meridional wind, and are related to altitude and season. Therefore, when applying the wind field results of HWM07 model,it is necessary to pay attention to the differences in wind speed and significant wave spectrum between HWM07 model wind field data and the real wind field data, which are related to season and height.
