Effect Analysis of Acellular Dermal Matrix in Tympanic Membrane Repair Sur-gery under Ear Endoscopy
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of decellularized dermal matrix(ADM)in tympanic membrane repair surgery. Methods 54 patients who underwent endoscopic tympanic membrane repair surgery in the Affiliated Huai'an No.1 People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from September 2020 to September 2023 were selected, and they were divided into Group A(28 cases)and Group B(26 cases)based on the different repair materials. The patients in the Group A used acellular dermal matrix as the repair mate-rial,while the patients in Group B used tragus cartilage-perichondrium.The complications, tympanic membrane healing, and postopera-tive hearing threshold were compared between the two groups. Results Two patients in Group B developed tragus deformities. The heal-ing rate of tympanic membrane perforation was 92.86%in Group A and 92.31%in Group B 3 months after operation, and there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The mean air-bone gap was(13.64±2.26)dB in Group A and(14.15±2.62)dB in Group B,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of ADM in repair-ing tympanic membrane perforation is satisfying, which can avoid a second surgical incision and reduce surgical damage. It is worth apply-ing in clinical practice.
