Outward Foreign Direct Investment in China 2023-2024:Retrospect and Prospect
In 2023,the global cross-border direct investment generally performed poorly,with a decline in the growth rate of greenfield investment and weak cross-border M&A transactions.China's outward foreign direct in-vestment developed steadily,especially with strong momentum in greenfield investment.It is expected that in 2024,global cross-border direct investment will remain weak but China's outbound investment still has strong mo-mentum.With expanding the domestic circulation as the ultimate goal,it is recommended that relevant government departments guide the rational and orderly layout of cross-border industrial chains,facilitate outward foreign invest-ment,encourage enterprises to innovate their outward investment methods and strengthen their risk prevention and response capabilities.
