Analysis of the Influencing Mechanism of Pilot Free Trade Zone on Urban Entrepreneurial Vitality
As an important practice base of national policies,the pilot free trade zone has a significant impact on stimulating the vitality of urban entrepreneurship.Based on the panel data of 280 prefecture-level cities in China from 2006 to 2019,by using the time-varing difference-in-difference method,this paper explores the impact of pilot free trade zones on urban entrepreneurial vitality and its mechanism.The results show that the establishment of pilot free trade zone can enhance the urban entrepreneurial vitality.The heterogeneity analysis shows that the impact of the pilot free trade zone on Type I large cities and small and medium-sized cities is significantly greater than that of Type II large cities.It has a significant effect on promoting entrepreneurial vitality in cities with medium and high marketization level,while it has a certain inhibitory effect on cities with low marketization level.Further mechanism analysis shows that the pilot free trade zone enhances urban entrepreneurial vitality by promoting the inflow of foreign direct investment and the agglomeration of high-end elemens.To give full play to the positive role of the pilot free trade zone,more attention should be paid to the implementation of differentiated policies in different regions and the continuous implementation of market-oriented reforms to stimulate the spontaneity and enthusiasm of urban entrepreneurship.At the same time,we should boost technological innovation and talent introduction,enhance urban technology and knowledge intensity,so as to advance the implementation of mass entrepreneurship and innovation policies.
