Exploring the Adaptive Transformation of Guangdong's Cross-border E-Commerce in Response to the Implementation of RCEP
Guangdong cross-border e-commerce sector is a leader in the cross-border e-commerce industry nationwide. The implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP)will further open up Guangdong's trade landscape. However, under the RCEP framework,Guangdong cross-border e-commerce faces several transformation challenges:the enterprise scale struggles to meet the market needs of RCEP member countries;the comprehensive support capabilities of these enterprises need to be urgently improved;the existing overseas warehouse layout fails to address the logistics shortcomings in the RCEP market;and there is a weak awareness of intellectual property rights among cross-border e-commerce enterprises. To further seize the development opportunities presented by RCEP,Guangdong cross-border e-commerce sector should take the following adaptive measures:"regulation+service"to enhance the core competitiveness of cross-border e-commerce enterprises;"joint construction+independent establishment"to expand the overseas warehouse layout in Southeast Asia;and"technology+branding"to jointly promote the comprehensive development of cross-border e-commerce enterprises.
