China-Brazil Trade Relations:Development Opportunities and Challenges
China is Brazil's largest trading partner,and Brazil is China's largest trading partner among Portuguese-speaking countries.The year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries,signaling a new phase in their bilateral trade relationship that presents both opportunities and challenges.The study finds that enhanced top-level design,deepening trade co-operation and the complementary in-dustrial structure offer vast development potential for China-Brazil trade.However,the trade relationship between the two countries still faces the challenges of political uncertainties,inevitable trade frictions and social misunder-standings.Therefore,in developing trade relations with Brazil,China should take a pragmatic approach by continu-ously deepening policy communication,actively exploring the way to achieve free trade.It should pursue trade fa-cilitation based on industrial complementarity and comparative advantages to gradually achieve trade diversifica-tion and properly resolve trade disputes.Additionally,fostering mutual understanding and support among the popu-lace is crucial to providing a solid public opinion foundation and social support for the development of bilateral trade.
