EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF AXIAL COMPRESSIVE BEHAVIOR ON CONCRETE-FILLED DOUBLE SKIN STEEL TUBULAR SHORT COLUMNS
This study employs an axial compression test method to investigate the axial compressive mechanical properties of square outer-inner circular steel tube concrete short columns.By designing six short columns with iden-tical steel ratios and conducting a comparative analysis with two square steel tube concrete short columns,it is ob-served that the ultimate bearing capacity of outer-inner circular steel tube concrete short columns is smaller than that of square steel tube columns, but their residual bearing capacity is higher.Under equivalent steel ratio condi-tions,increasing the inner steel tube diameter enhances the bearing capacity, while enlarging the inner steel tube ar-ea reduces the ultimate bearing capacity under the same inner and outer steel tube diameter conditions.Nonlinear fi-nite element analysis is conducted to validate experimental results, providing empirical support for a deeper under-standing of the performance of square outer-inner circular steel tube concrete short columns.
