INFLUENCE OF RAINFALL INFILTRATION ON THE STABILITY OF A SLOPE IN JIANNING COUNTY
Rainfall infiltration has an important impact on slope stability. In this paper,a project slope in Jianning County is taken to study the changes of pore water pressure, groundwater level, and slope safety factor in the continu-ous rainfall time and after the rainfall stopped under four different rainfall conditions. The results show that continu-ous rainfall infiltration leads to the increase of the pore water pressure in the slope, the increase the groundwater lev-el,and the reduction the slope safety factor,in which the safety factor in the early period of rainfall decreases sharp-ly.With the continuous rainfall, the safety factor gradually tends to a stable value, and the greater the rainfall intensi-ty,the faster the initial safety factor decreases;the faster the groundwater level rises, and the smaller the safety factor after stability. After the rain stops, the water accumulated in the slope continues to discharge, and the safety factor of the slope gradually increases. The greater the rainfall intensity, the faster the safety factor recovers after the rain stops. The results may comprehensively evaluate the stability of specific slopes in Jianning County under rainfall in-filtration,and can also provide the reference for the stability analysis of similar projects under rainfall conditions.
